Believe in the Gold began in a hospital room where Jacey Uphill adopted “BELIEVE” as her personal mantra. While fighting her own battle with this unrelenting disease, she remained positive and was determined to make a difference. She believed that the gold ribbon that represents childhood cancer should be more recognizable. Despite the harsh realities she endured each day through her treatment plan, she remained active in her community raising awareness about childhood cancer and how it affects families.
This year Believe in the Gold will be hosting its annual A Touch of Gold Gala. An evening of 1920’s Glitz and Glamour. Starting the evening entering on a “Gold” carpet to the energetic rhythms of swing music and extravagant frivolity. The evening will be full of live entertainment interacting with the guests.
The Gala will host a silent auction boasting exciting, one of a kind items and adventures for every age, taste and fancy. Local celebrities, doctors, researchers and cancer survivors will bring to the forefront ground breaking research and courageous stories about the children.
In order to make this Gala a huge success we need your help. Without the assistance of community-minded individuals and corporations, fundraising events of this magnitude would not be possible. Please consider donating a silent auction item. Your support for this years annual A Touch of Gold Glitz and Glamour Gala is greatly appreciated. Proceeds go to supporting financial needs of families and their children with cancer, raising awareness for childhood cancer and supporting new innovated research that is happening right here in Calgary.
